10 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Cover in Chocolate

It’s no secret that all kinds of snacks taste better when covered in chocolate; we can personally vouch for chocolate covered potato chips and popcorn! You might think that you’ve tried all the possible combinations, but we’re about to suggest ten things you had no idea you could cover in chocolate—and still eat!

1. Chili Peppers

You might have tried chocolate bars with chili peppers in them, but can we flip the script? We sure can! Chili peppers with dark chocolate make for a fiery combination that’s not for the weak of heart.

2. Peppermint Leaves

A sprig of peppermint dipped in white, milk, or dark chocolate is a beautiful, delicate dessert topping. Garnish ice cream with chocolate-covered peppermint leaves to make an effortlessly classy and light dessert.

3. Bacon

Is there anything bacon can’t do? Apparently not, because it only gets better when it’s made into dessert when covered in rich chocolate!

4. A Whole Slice of Cheesecake

Didn’t think chocolate could get any more decadent? Think again! Try slicing up a whole New York cheesecake and dipping each slice in bitter dark chocolate. The result is an upscale, filling dessert with the perfect balance of sweetness.

5.  Gummy Bears

If you need a fun party snack, buy a big bag of gummy bears and dip them in chocolate! Not only are they oh-so-craveable, they’re also easy to dress up for any occasion. Mix dark chocolate and white chocolate dipped bears for a cute black-tie theme, or add a little something special for the adults by soaking them in your choice of alcohol before covering them in chocolate.

6. Avocado

Not only can you dip avocado slices into chocolate for a surprisingly creamy treat, you can also create a healthy chocolate pudding with avocados as the base!

7. Pickles

Chocolate-covered pickles aren’t new, but they started trending earlier this year and divided the internet into two distinct camps: those for it and those vehemently against. Any sweet and salty is a win in our books, but you’ll just have to try this one for yourself!

8. Eggplant

In Italy, chocolate-covered fried eggplant is a dessert called Melanzane al Cioccolato. Italians typically finish this dish with a topping of pine nuts and candied orange peels.

9. Roses

Sure, you can buy your beloved a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates, but have you ever considered combining them and creating a bouquet of chocolate-covered roses? Ok, neither have we, but apparently, roses are completely edible, and the darker the red of the rose, the tastier they are!

10. Onions

Philadelphia is famous for plenty of its food (Philly cheesesteaks and soft pretzels, anyone?), but chocolate-covered onions are by far the most infamous innovation Philly has to offer. They’re considered a “cult favorite of tourists” and might just be worth a try— or at least worth making your friends try.

If you can't get enough of chocolate-covered confections, ROYCE' has plenty of luxury, Japanese chocolate candy ready for you to indulge in!
